Daniel McDonald of Somerset was indicted for one count of first-degree bias intimidation, one count of second-degree bias intimidation, and two counts of making terroristic threats against police officers.
McDonald allegedly hurled racial insults at Jamesburg police officers in December and damaged the patrol car after being taken into custody.
McDonald was indicted by a sitting Middlesex County grand jury on Thursday.
On Dec. 23, 2019, police were called to Stockton Avenue in the borough of Jamesburg for a report of a disturbance in a parked car. As police were speaking to McDonald, he became belligerent towards the police officers. He continued to yell and curse at police with threatening language, racial slurs and profanities, according to the Middlesex County prosecutor.
At police headquarters, McDonald continued to threaten acts of violence against police officers, the prosecutor said.
